Who is Angie (Perez) Thomas?

At her core, Angie is a builder. After her first experience building an organization from the ground up, she actively sought out similar opportunities. She views these organizations as developing communities and cherishes the friendships that emerge from these ventures.

Interview with Angie

  • Enneagram Type
The Achiever, are self-assured, attractive, and charming. Ambitious, competent, and energetic, they can also be status-conscious and highly driven for advancement. They are diplomatic and poised, but can also be overly concerned with their image and what others think of them. They typically have problems with workaholism and competitiveness. At their Best: self-accepting, authentic, everything they seem to be—role models who inspire others.
  • What are some honest, unfiltered things about you?
I am a horrible liar. In middle school, I lied about wearing a coat to school of which my mother read my face and walked over to the hall closet revealing my coat that I “wore” to school untouched. My thoughts come across my face. Botox helps but when it wears off, you will know what I am thinking. I cringe when leaders don’t answer the question first, instead ramble in response to an executive’s question. It pains me inside. I get really excited where my brain takes off on ideas or discussions. Sometimes this leads to me interrupting others. I am working on this. You can help by acknowledging my excitement and input and noting the last few points you want to ensure are heard. This is a clear and respectful signal to me to pause and make note. I enjoy people. Which requires me to recharge in silence. My husband thinks I am actually an introvert. I am unapologetically ambitious. I value building the foundational skillsets and experiences vs. getting to the next role/title “fast”. And I like to succeed together as a team vs by myself. I take immediate action once an idea or project pops in my head. I trust easily at first. Once trust is lost it will take a lot to earn back, but it can be earned back.
  • What are your quirks?
I don’t like surprises. Don’t surprise Angie. I am brutally honest; people know where they stand with me. If they are unsure, ask and I will be very direct. I ask a lot of questions because I am curious. I seek to understand and actively try to disconfirm my beliefs often. I get hangry. I have a nutritionist to help mitigate this but if I don’t eat for a long time, I am not at my best. I am a planner and think of all the little details. Therefore, details matter to me. I reply to slack messages or text in my head and think I have actually replied. I appreciate top of inbox or pings if I haven’t replied in a timely manner. I am situational competitive person.
